The Gear Closet, Chattanooga TN

What is the Gear Closet?

The Gear Closet, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is part of our non profit Caribbean and Tenne-SEA
(Student Environmental Alliance).

All funds support Kids 4 Clean Water!

We accept outdoor gear of all shapes and sizes. From kayaks and backpacks to climbing shoes and chalk bags, life jackets and paddles to snorkels and swim fins, if it’s something you’ve considered giving away or throwing out, chances are good that someone else would love to give it a second life.
When you donate items, it’s twice the win: the more that’s donated, the greater the selection you’ll have for some new-used gear, plus, you’ll keep one more thing out of the landfill!

Donated items are fully tax-deductible, but we know that large outdoor gear can be pricey. Can’t stand to fully donate a big-ticket item? We also take items on consignment.

Got a big camping trip coming up and you don’t have any gear? Don’t spend hundreds for one weekend. Come here first and see what we have!
Thinking about trying out a new sport and don’t want to invest a lot in it until you know you like it? This is the place for you!

How It Works:

Why choose to consign?

Well, we all have that pile in the back of our closet… maybe an even bigger pile in the garage. We keep telling ourselves we are going to need it again one day (although it has been years) OR one of our friends will need it (no worries, they have gear). It is time to consign! Stop by and ask The Gear Closet team how to consign! It is as simple as bringing your gear to the store, signing the agreement form, and then we sell your gear for you! The biggest benefits of consigning are making a little extra cash on the side for your gear that you had laying around. Maybe you could even use that money to upgrade! And you can finally clear out some room… to move in bigger gear?!?! Did you know that the percentage The Gear Closet is considered tax deductible to you?!

How does consignment work?

1. Bring in your gear

2. Sign the Agreement

3. Leave it to us to sell your items!

4. Get a check at the end of each selling month!

Click here to check out our Consignment Agreement Form.

So EASY! Just leave your gear with us and we sell it for you!
