St. Lucia Map-A-Thon

Map-A-Thon for St. Lucia – February 28 at the Gear Closet

Join us on February 28th from 12:00 pm on to participate in the OpenStreetMap Map-athon for St. Lucia.

So what does this have to do with The Gear Closet? The Gear Closet is a fundraising arm of Caribbean-SEA, which works to educate people about clean water, both here in Chattanooga and in the Caribbean.

What is the OpenStreetMap project?
OpenStreetMap is the project that creates and distributes free geographic data for the world. Many maps around the world are incomplete and/or proprietary. The OpenStreetMap project aims to provide free maps for anyone’s use. These can be for private citizens, government, and relief organizations. Chattanooga OUTDOORS Show is NOT the Gear Swap!

Hey!  There has been some confusion with the new Outdoors Show coming to Camp Jordan.  THAT will be a cool event with lots of commercial vendors of outdoor related stuff. According to their email, they will have exhibitors from camping, hunting, ATV’s, rock climbing, kayaking, and just about everything!  Check out ChattanoogaOutdoorsShow.com and go visit Camp Jordan May 8,9, & 10!

As for the GEAR SWAP, it’s personal folks and businesses who have gear to swap, sell, trade, etc.  Rock/Creek will be there….so will BOLD/GOLD from the YMCA…..and many folks who are cleaning out closets and garages so they can get more fun gear!!  The SWAP is on April 18th at the Gear Closet this year….and followed by a Pint Night to support outdoor programs at Red Bank Elementary School!!

Come join us on the 18th of April from 10 to 4….and beyond!!
